One strong scripture that has helped me to grow in my walk with God has been Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight.
This is a very powerful scripture which many times I have failed to make it practical in my own life. Even through our mistakes god has proved to me that He is available to make all situations right. The one main point of this verse I am going to focus on is Trust in the Lord.
During the first three years of marriage and my very own beginnings with the Lord, we hit a financial burden hard after I was laid off from my job. There were times when I had to visit family members and stay for dinner because I had no food for my baby. My husband was the only one working and minimum wage was just providing a shelter for us. I was worried and stressed out that I was becoming bitter and at times stayed away from family after they found out because I didn’t want them to know. I felt ashamed and embarrassed because I was not able to provide much less help my husband.
I finally reached out for help as it was starting to take a toll out of me mentally, physically and emotionally. Friends, family and our church family that we had stayed away from, all prayed for us and some even donated to help us. We began noticing blessing upon blessing as we opened our hearts to Jesus and began to trust in him. All this time, we had missed out on other blessings all because we were looking for other alternatives and help.
Can you relate to something similar? Have you gone through this where you turn to other alternatives instead of leaning to God. You think sometimes you know how to get out of a situation, but instead ou get deeper into the pit and end up trapped in the enemies abyss.
But when you know God is waiting there to for you to Trust In Him and Lean on Him, blessing upon blessing is poured out. He is there ready for you to run to Him for Help.
